Grayson Pynn (b. 1997) is a composer and artist from Athens, GA. His music covers a variety of styles and genres, focusing on guitar, multimedia, electronic incorporation, songwriting, custom soundscapes and more. His music leans towards rock and minimalism, while always attempting to push the boundaries of what new music can sound like. Grayson has a Bachelor's degree in music composition, and a music business certificate from The University of Georgia.
LONG BIO
Grayson Pynn (b.1997) is a composer and artist from Athens, GA. He writes music in a variety of genres, including classical guitar, film/game score, funk, rock, mixed ensemble and more. He hopes to push the boundaries of sound with his music and to express himself in boldly unapologetic terms.
Grayson's dad is a guitarist and musician who has played in bands such as Bunny Carlos and Splinter. After playing trumpet in band in middle and high school, he picked up guitar when he was fifteen years old. However, Grayson was not seriously committed to music until dropping out of The University of Georgia while pursuing a computer science degree. He hitchhiked and busked, homeless, around the country for three years in an abusive relationship before returning to Athens to complete a Bachelor's degree in Music Composition and Certificate in Music Business.
Now, Grayson is pushing his music ever-forward by pursuing a Master's degree in music composition from UGA. He plays acoustic guitar and sings in a band, Super Helpful!, with his best friend, Quentin Smith. He also plays in a funk-punk band with fellow composition students called Tattoo Logic, writes and composes works in his solo career and runs sound for multiple venues and bands. Grayson runs a small recording studio and merchandise fabrication business, repairs instruments and electronics, and lives with his wonderful girlfriend and their dog, Jellybean.
