Lapitere
bicycle-based metal-grinder
This project began in the last year of my Bachelor's at UGA. The player sits on a deconstructed bicycle and presses down keys from a toy piano in order to bring hanging pipes closer to a large grinding wheel mechanism. The mechanism is rotated by pedaling, and creates a novel grinding sound with cinematic appeal, but also with pitch variance in two chromatic octaves.
This instrument is incomplete due to stabilization issues and a lack of funding.
It has been entirely funded by myself up to this point, but you can change that by donating now!
Any monetary contribution would significantly help to bring this instrument to it's full glory.
Please press “Donate” below if you are able.

My current instrument project involves lengths of aluminum bar stock. It is an instrument designed for two players, and set to a hexatonic scale. Submit your email at the bottom of the page to stay up to date with my most exciting project to date!
